About Me -

NAME: Kyle-Anne Shiver

A number of readers have asked about my unusual name. The pure Anglo Saxon, usually male name, put together with a female Christian Saint name seems a bit confusing, I admit.

My given name is “Kyle.” I took the name, “Anne,” when I converted to Catholicism at age 30, now 26 years ago. Saint Anne was the mother of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

I use both names when signing my writing to signify for my readers both the fact that I am not male, but rather female, and that I am a Christian above all else.

Fifteen years ago, I had a first novel published and really believed it would be a success; it wasn’t. For a decade I quietly wrote fiction that few people ever read, and piled up a nice collection of rejection slips. I might be piling them up still, if not for events far away and out of my control.

My life changed on September 11, 2001, our generation’s “Day of Infamy.” I had been on the front lines of the culture war every day raising our children, but when I saw those planes hit in NYC and DC, I was driven past grief to know how in the world we ended up in the mess we are in now.

I spent five years book-worming my way through the Koran and many other volumes about Mohammed and Islam. That took me into the political realm to learn all I could about the leaders whose fateful decisions seemed to weaken America’s defenses and empower the enemies of our civilization.

Finally, I put all else aside and devoted myself to reading and writing, using every ounce of my energy to apply my God-given common sense and forty years of Christian discipleship into the service of my Country through the power of the pen. This war will take many and varied soldiers to win; I hope to be one of them.

When I write, I include wherever appropriate, references to Holy Scripture and to religious figures of note, as well as my own faith. This is in complete accordance with not only our Founding Fathers, but also in complete accordance with all American leaders throughout our history. I do this with complete confidence, ignoring the protests of strident secularists, who have for the past 40 years attempted to irradicate God from our public life. I do not entertain their protests. Those who believe this way, are in the vast minority of this Country and need to bow to the founding principles of America.

When we bow to them instead, we act as Pilate and wash our hands of the God from whom every one of our inalienable rights have come. When we bow to secularists and atheists, or to Islamists, we do so at our own grave peril. We tell God that the opinions of human beings are more important than He is.

I respect, with all my being, the right of each individual human being to have his own faith, his own beliefs and his own religion, if he feels so inclined. He may respectfully speak of his atheism the same way I speak of my own Christianity. But when atheists and secularists attempt to shout down and disrespect the rights of believers in public, they demonstrate the most evil of totalitarian aims. They demonstrate not their respect for freedom, but their desire to have their own way. This is as un-American as it is un-Godly.

Any believer who caves to this tyranny is as culpable in our own demise as the atheist who bullies him. We must speak boldly in the manner of our ancestors. Or face the loss of our own freedom for generations to come.

My one prayer every single day is that I will not disgrace Him. I don’t give one whit what others think of me. They are not the ones who will judge me when I face Him at the end of my days on earth. We all need to remember this, in my opinion. And show the courage of our forebears in speaking boldly against evil and proudly for God, not only in private, but always, always in public too.

Proverbs 29:27 - “An unjust man is an abomination to the just: and he
that is upright in the way is abomination to the wicked.”

“The true hypocrite is the one who ceases to perceive his deception;
the one who lies with sincerity.”

God bless America!
